Rotary Unions – what are they manufactured from?
Wednesday 18th February 2026
Rotary Unions can be manufactured from almost any material.
Rotary Unions and Swivel Joints are most often made from Cast Iron, Mild Steel or Brass. They can also be made from different grades of Stainless Steel if required.
Stainless Steel Rotary Unions are most often found within the pharmaceutical or food industry.
The Filton standard ranges are usually manufactured from ferrous metals i.e. mild steel and cast iron. These joints are commonly used with water, steam, hot oil and air applications.
Our Design Team will work with you to determine the best material to use for your application.
The Design Team can be contacted either by phone on +44 1926 423 191 or by email at technical@filtonltd.co.uk
