Rotary Unions in the Plastic Floor Covering Industry.
Wednesday 22nd February 2023
Today’s blog gives an overview of how our unions are used in the manufacture of plastic floor coverings.
Filton Rotary Unions are used by manufacturers of linoleum or plastic floor covering. Rotary Unions within this industry are used at various temperatures from 0°C to 200°C.
One of the processes in which Rotary Unions are used is laminating different materials together to add strength to the flooring. This can be done by material passing between rolls, the temperature of the rolls allows the materials to bond together.
Another process using Rotary Unions is embossing. This is where a pattern is impressed into the material, this can be for decorative or safety reasons. This is done by passing the material between rolls that have a pattern engraved onto them.
If you wish to discuss your application further, our Technical Team are on hand to help with any queries you may have.
