BS EN ISO 9001:2015
Tuesday 16th May 2023
Today we are explaining what this standard means to us and our product.
Filton have held a Certificate of Approval for ISO 9001 since October 1999.
This British (BS) standard is based on a European (EN) Standard and is intended demonstrate an organisation’s:
- ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements,
- openness to enhance customer satisfaction,
- ability to address risks and opportunities associated with the organisation.
This is done by using a process approach to the business; looking at inputs, activities and outputs. All decisions should be made using an evidence based approach and continual improvement is also a key principle.
Customer Focus is at the forefront of the standard as is Traceability and at Filton each of our joints has a unique serial number printed on to the label. We keep a record of these and can look up when every single one of our joints were produced and who the customer was.
Production must be controlled and that includes drawings, inspection, measuring and the calibration of measuring equipment. At Filton we use a variety of measuring equipment, which is calibrated regularly and we have a documented inspection schedule for all stages of our production process.
There are many elements to the standard and we undertake regular internal audits and annual audits from an external provider. Every 3 years we are re-certified following a more detailed and comprehensive look at all our systems, processes and procedures.
At Filton we believe that the BS EN ISO 9001:2015 standard demonstrates our commitment to our customers and the quality of our products.
