Rotary Unions and Packaging Aids
Friday 17th March 2023
Today’s blog looks at how Rotary Unions are used to manufacture tape.
Rotary Unions are used in the manufacture of tapes, banding and strapping. These are normally done as rolls of sheet and cut to size otherwise known as a log in the industry.
Adhesive Tape – Rotary Unions are used to either heat or cool the roll whilst the product passes over it, this allows the adhesive to adhere to the base material.
Banding and Strapping – Rotary Unions can be used to emboss a pattern onto the band, to increase grip. The material is passed between rolls so the pattern can be embossed.
